the day was done
and once again
all hopes were gone
though suddenly
you broke my gloominess
and it almost felt
like the days of old
and when you smiled
my day turned less cold
and i felt that life was gold
but the moment passed
and today i can only
hope, hope, hope
like the days of old

It is an awful rut to get into, when you are waiting for a smile or some indication that she cares. Then when you get it, the waiting starts all over again.
