"What is spring fever?" you say Well, it usually hits me in May It's the refreshing scent of a spring day That makes you want to come out and play To rejoice that you're alive Another winter you did survive As the greening lands begin to thrive You find your soul has been revived Life seems so brand new With so many things to do To plant a flower or two And a vegetable garden too There's so much new to see And hear the sound of a buzzing bee Every bird and flower and tree Seem much brighter to me But mostly it's just a feeling Of contented well being That life has a new beginning And my heart feels like singing [This message has been edited by katahdin (04-26-2012 08:23 PM).] |

What a lovely poem to read on this 28 degree morning , with ice balls falling from what seems a winter sky. Thank you for it, Kat...:-) "Poetry is an echo, asking a shadow to dance." |

Love this. Spring Fever. I realized this year that I suffer from Cabin Fever every March/April. As the light returns, I get seriously fatigued. I am physically exhausted. The same thing happens to me between fall and winter. I just don't make the transitions very well. But, I am looking forward to Spring Fever and planting flowers! A |

My heart is singing too, after reading your beautiful poem, dear Karen. Ah, to perceive the beauty of Spring not only outside but also inside, you captured this feeling very well. I loved the rhyming too. Margherita |
