My Tapestry Colors flow some dark some glow woven from the soul of my life The threads each other intertwine while the past present future show Blues greens and gold are the brightest filled with hopes and dreams still living They represent self forgiving most important not the slightest Among green of new beginnings I stand in the gold of sunlight With trembling hands I try to write while my heart fills with wild spinning’s Warmth of acceptance fills my soul in pinks and yellows my friends flow They strengthen each thread that I sew their helping hands help make me whole Red threads are removed until the last they’re held at bay till I can see The nightmares that still frighten me are dark blacks and grays of the past My Tapestry will strengthen me through the needles may pierce my flesh My heart and soul have gained refresh with colors that will set me free Karen Mc Neil April 25, 2012 |

Very well thought out and penned, Startime. This line, in my opinion is the telling line of the poem . . . "They represent self forgiving" Self forgiving. It took me many decades before I could finally forgive myself for my past. It was only when I realized I was not the same person now as I was then, that the forgiving could commence. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

I really like this... especially the hope that's evident in the last stanza! *S* |
