. There is snow On distant mountains Here in nothing special Northwest Indiana water Frozen to icicles crystals The forest trees At dawn a blue tone Shades the road to town Sparrows under wooden eaves Doing whatever it takes to survive Flutter their little wings The old dog stays inside Our house having no wish To go outside The cat By the window watches The minutes passing by No words are said Or need to be said You look at me I sigh . |
