There are things better left unsaid, left to simmer in your head until they become a savory stew of memories that aren't quite true, but steadily improve with age. Just comfort food for cold, dark days. of the winter times that lie ahead. Some things are better left unsaid. Ida Werrett |

Beautifully, and wisely said is this offering from you, Ida. And, yes, yes, of course, the warm and savory stew you have allowed to steep and simmer is for sure comfort food for the winter of your years. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

Once again, dear Ida, I am impressed by the sharpness of your thoughts, so well expressed. Deep and wise! And then there is also always the alternative that would have been if we had spoken, to consider. Can be comfort or regret, a mix, some kind of marinated pot roast/Sauerbraten! You are sooooooo good! Love, Margherita |

until they become a savory stew of memories that aren't quite true, but steadily improve with age. Just comfort food for cold, dark days. And that comfort isn't lessened by the fact that some of the memories distort the facts a bit. *S* I love this, Ida... well done!! |

I've come back to this poem because I find myself often cooking up comfort food and memories. Still enjoying this poem. Smiles, ms. e |

Ida, I love this because yes, some memories seem to become twisted around.I know that two or three people who were there at the time will often relate the memory in different tones. So yes some memories are nicer when kep t to oneself. excellent .Jo |
