When Doves Gather |

Breath rises, a soft flutter~ nestles stars against summer shoulders midst the lilac of wings and doves. You gather me quietly, in the most ancient of melodies, embolden evergreen circle whose molten meadows dare more rings than centuries-old trees or olive branches bearing promise. Whence shall heaven steal, leave you bereft? Oh, sweet shadow, sensate, guard with tender diligence my fragile heart ~ Whose dance is a song without lyrics, without note to form upon the lips, honed to harvest rainbow's gold. |

I do thank you for reading and responding. I hope spring is treating you all well and that you are inspired when the doves (metaphor for words) gather. |

My girl, I read this a few times, and then because I was at a bit of loss, read some of the responses, and was glad to see your reply and the subsequent answer of 'doves' as being a metaphor for 'words'. Thank you for sharing! |

Sunshine, Actually, this evolved more as a love poem from a conversation on another poem about peace: DOVES by William B. Lynch [Edit - Sorry; Copyrighted material removed. Ron] It should be grounded a little better. This should help. I have liked this little poem for years! ~~~~~~~~~ Ron, I really appreciate your time, and comment, too. Thank you. Whatever the inspiration, it's what you make or gather from it; that you transform it into, my friend. It's the beauty of you that makes this piece flower. Wonderful and easy flowing write... j. |

ebonygirl and JamesMichael, I did not mean to overlook your comments. I thought I had answered them, but they didn't post. You made me feel very welcome, and I am glad you came. I'm inundated in paperwork right now (taxes) so my head may be on a little crooked. Karen |

Very nice! I don't really understand it, but it's fun to say it out loud. |

guard with tender diligence my fragile heart ~ Whose dance is a song without lyrics, without note to form upon the lips, honed to harvest rainbow's gold. I just love those lines. I know I have one up against the potential hurt but appreciate your meaning in the entire. Eric true love never looks after it's own interests |

Thank you for the kind comments! Sunday night is almost gone and I would have missed them had I not decided to stop in for a moment. May doves gather softly in metaphor and inspiration around you. Peace. |
