there is a legend that says Venus wandered through woodlands weeping for the loss of her lover, Adonis and wherever her tepid tears had fallen the wind-flower grows how delightful the ferny leafed, wind-flower grows peaking above the ground like earth-bound stars, on the woodland floor how fragile those nodding, little flowers of spring that sparkle like star clusters when the sun shines through the windows of woodlands and sleeps when clouds obscure the sun |

Don't know of the flower, but the poem is for real. Nice and smooth and somewhat lyrical. I liked it. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

The windflower is indeed a beautiful plant, as well, this verse is a beautiful poem. Welcome to pip, Ron. "Poetry is an echo, asking a shadow to dance." |

Regrets are the tears of good deeds left undone...that they take on such a sweet and fragrant countenance in your poem....is a lovely...lovely touch. Well done and welcome to PIP.

An intriguing legend and a wonderfully lyrical and alliterative poem. I really enjoyed reading this one aloud! The woods are all beginning to unfurl their leaves and open their bright flowers here too... just a little further south. |

Welcome to Passions, Ron. I found this poem to have almost a lyrical quality to it. Nicely rendered... Oh, and I read what you said about grammer in the Announcements forum. Never fear, that 3 headed monster most certainly is not prejudice, but seems to randomly bite us all now and again around here. Just make the words count and you'll be just fine here. Michael |

Thank you all so much for your warm welcome and comments for my poem. With regards to grammar, I am open for crits. I am fairly thick skinned so don't worry if you think a crit might insult me - it won't. |

Oh, I love this - just my sort of poetry, my being a forest flower person. Thank you for the woodland wonder and wander. Owl |
