Tree of life Weeping willow don't cry for me I courted neath your shade Confetti petals now set free The silence of the glade From mighty oak our English fleet Protected sceptered Isle Acorns fall as two lovers meet Then contemplate a while Through silver birch the dappled rays The rising sun appears To guide our path in forest maze And chase away our fears A crying boy neath chestnut tall A boken string in hand How long his wait for fruit to fall Through time the running sand A churchyard now and silent yew Majestic in the dusk Compared to you our years so few Till just remains the husk. |

Touching poetry. Using the tree as metaphors for each stanza is charming and tasteful. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |
