MARCH Do I alone worship you? Around me, all sleep – I walk out to the warm winds that are bending time and clouds and stars and full moonlight that languishes, as if it were the sun in full bright It is March in the Midwest, ‘tis early for naught but cold still sweeps a gust, and some say For such temps, beware… It is still March, and you shall be unforgiving in a blink, should you choose. It is March. Redbirds and Robins are telling upon you, betraying you. Bluebird makes a brief appearance, Only to say, I am not yet archived, I still live and friends say, how do you stay here? And It is March. The deer in the gardens and upon the grassy slopes Here upon the outskirts of town tell me true, life is winging, singing, ringing, lingering… And I alone, wonder, Do I worship You? Yes. © krj 3-6-12 |

Sometimes it takes a delving into our souls to get to the truth. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

"life is winging, singing, ringing, lingering" Yes, indeed it is... There are three deer eating corn, fifty feet from my back window, right now. Bluebirds were visiting my nesting boxes yesterday, for the first time this year.. a little later than usual, but there have been robins in the woods all winter.. I have been hearing their preparing songs.. This poem wakes me to the fact that I do worship them, I do. "It is difficult |

life is winging, singing, ringing, lingering… And we are reminded of miracles. *S* Do you? Yes. Alone? No. *S* |

And I alone, wonder, Do I worship You? And the fields are getting ready for planting, or have been planted, so you are not alone in the wonder of March, wonderful write |

You might worship alone... but suffice to say you are not alone in the worshiping. ![]() Michael |

I enjoyed this one. I don't like the cold, and when you alternate it with hot it makes my head ache. But then, like last Saturday, I drive by a field and there are two colts with their mothers, and I'm captivated. You made me think again of the colts, so thank you. Nan (Pilgrim variety) |

I really enjoyed this poem, a poem with open spaces by using indents. I tend to shy away from the 'block' look where a poem has a crammed, tight format, hence my reason for writing in free verse. I like the free looseness of its form, which is pleasing to the eye. |

Nice poem, Karilea. It reflects very well the uncertainties of spring, and our own convictions. I hope all is well with you this warm Spring day. |
