In winter's hold, this quiet night
of iced over sycamores
clouds playing peeka boo between
the splintered branches,and a sliver
of moonlight seeps through
the stonefaced pond

I reflect upon you
in shades of deep sepia
your thorns given way
to the rose of our afterlife

there, here, now,
when the world is quiet
the still life night
our senses come alive !

This is so beautifully said, Emma. I can visualize that shaft of moonlight very well and can see the thorns fading away as you and he are one with each other. I really enjoyed this.

Who says that only warm summer nights enhance our romantic side? You prove the opposite. You created a very special atmosphere with your captivating poem, dear EmmaRose.

Came back to re-read this beauty, my friend...suprised I hadn't comment during the first look...

Wonderfully worded, and felt; loved the second stanza.
