The Tome of Time

The Tome of Time

All cares and worries
of the hard edged and
weary-worn day fade away
into a magical Wintry dream.
Gossamer flakes and
eternity swirl all around us,
past and future both
present in this moment
of the grand and glorious
'now' painted in formless
sparkling white wonder
by the evening twilight.
Here in the untamed
majesty of a Winter forest,
where 500 million years
of vanished worlds
lie like the snow dust
on bare-bone trees
and Gaia’s brow,
all of human grasping
greed and strife are but
an infinitesimally small
footnote in the boundless
cosmic tome of Time.
