Soundless are my steps
in the hush of the desert
bereft of all hope my heart emits
vibrations of painful longing.

Fear grips me in the darkness
with an extensive soul sigh
I lift up my eyes to the skies
in search of encouraging signs.

A spellbinding multitude of stars
showers me with infinite smiles of light
dancing on my lips, touching my heart,
assembling to form Your Holy face.

Wrapped in Your divine fragrance
emanated from the heavens above
I walk with renewed confidence
see, flowers sprout all around me

and I know I am home within Your love.

Very persuasive poetry, Margherita. There are times when the darkness seems to hold sway over us and we do not see the results of life around us. Only when we do our best to rid our thoughts of darkness, or even look to a higher power, then, and only then are we able to see and appreciate the "flowers in the desert."

So lovely, your imagery is flawless. I love being able to see what a writer sees, and to take a literal place and make it something beyond that.. Perfect.

One thing life has proven to me, Margherita, is that God is visible in all places, no matter how dark, and that alone may be your only way out at times.  Enjoyable read.

Margherita,  this is so lovely and touching. .. Very pertinent to myself now at this time when I too find myself searching for the flowers reaching through parched earth. ..I know they are there.  Thank you for this beautiful message of hope!

Beautiful.Thank you for this.
Whenever, I see a flower breaking through an unusual or unexpected place, I am  drawn to it. It reminds me, there is a place for every one.
Out of step a bit, maybe a little  different,it reminds me that there is beauty in everyone that just may not have been  noticed when it was trying to conform.

Breaking out of the  mode and finding our own way, shows strength, Jo

Love the picture and the words to grace your page. Up from the grit and the grime beneath the rock, the flower chisels itself somehow..amazing
