Yesterday, Or The Day Before Another Halloween has passed – does it really seem a year has gone since last we saw goblins and ghost and other alien forms of life standing at our door, hoping to fill their bags? I plainly remember last year, yesterday or the day before, not months and months ago, when I was younger than today. But as I went outside this morning, the leaves seemed a little redder, more yellow and brown – less green than yesterday’s were. Fall and the weather both know it’s now the time of year for pumpkins to turn into pie, turkeys to become golden, dressing filled birds, and soon – the jingle of bells, the piney smell of fresh cut trees, the sight of gaily wrapped gifts of this and that, and Santa’s laughter in our ears. A year ago I opened the door to laughter and giggles, a shouted “Trick or Treat!”, and aliens before my eyes . . . a Year ago, just yesterday, or the day before.
Note: Tried to come up with something for Halloween but this from about 10 years ago is best could do... As luck would have it, Halloween Eve was a terrible thunder storm in our area and we lost power Halloween Day at about 5am...got it back at 10 pm...so all the candy we bought...Guess Who Has To Eat It!!!? Woe is me... j. [This message has been edited by jwesley (11-02-2013 11:01 AM).] |

I think this sums up the holiday season very well, Jimmy. The days do seem to fly by as we get older. Ida |

Yep. We had thunder bumpers down here in the swamp too, Jimmy. I totally "get" a Year ago, just yesterday, or the day before. ~*~ Behind every great man is a woman rolling her eyes. ~*~ [This message has been edited by paderewski (11-02-2013 12:00 PM).] |

We had a perfect night for little spooks. I had the time of my life sitting on a bench next to the person with the candy bowl. I had on my favorite hot pink curly haired ogre mask scaring the jelly beans out of the little ones. We were sitting on the busiest street in town. CHRISTMAS!!! AGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! Lori |

I like this. You're not so caught up in yesterday that you fail to see or sense all that is going on around you today. I envy your perspective. Michael |
