We meet again but the trees now echo the Fall's grand attire what was Summertime's rouse crumbles quickly with the playing of taps, i.e , on once, the up and coming lawns and I digress to our medley of pinks, periwinkles and tones of high fashion, with August's bounty more than tripling the Springtime promise, (which had already cracked the face off Winter's tomb) yet there are spaces between the slimming down branches telling stories of April's early nests, but now singsong flyers abandon and must harken to southernly desires these finds, now unveiled due to the cadence of burgeoning winds and revival of nature's seasonal patterns bring me to wonder if our frolic of May day euphoria can sustain through sobriety as the somber tones merge with the late season's muse [This message has been edited by EmmaRose (10-16-2013 03:52 PM).] |

The seasons, for better or for worse tend to give her the courage to spring forth, to lazily give unto the sun's rays and to fall against the brilliance of leaves falling, only to give way to winder's cold embrace. ~*~ Your past is just a story. Once you realize this, it has no power over you. ~*~ |

I spent some time living on a subtropical island and while there very much missed the temperate zone seasons that I grew up with, and their recurring stimuli. I enjoyed your season-sensitive poem. Nicely done. Thank you for sharing. |

All I could think when I read this was, in the words of Eddard Stark, "Winter is coming!" A horrible reference it is, but the meaning behind the message is the same... despair creeping, longer and darker nights awaiting, and a coldness coming that numbs the mind and soul. You capture this uneasy feeling well. Michael |
