All that Truly 'Matters' Between the boredom and the thunder like the magical silence of a dream, against these somber ‘endless’ hills, as the northwest Winter wind comes calling, there is one lost rainbow of Summer passing. What have we of grand-lasting ‘importance’ in this world but the promise of each other … I shall never lose the wonder of your eyes, your heart, your spirit, and the words of love you have chosen to speak to me through this dark wilderness of life’s broken dreams. You are my evening moon and morning star of all that truly 'matters.' --- b. e. adams (10/13/2013) |

Holding onto memories, the good ones, is sometimes all that keeps us together. Too many allow the bad memories to dominate, and that is cause for great pain. I love this poem for the reason stated in the beginning. ~*~ I want to hear a Jim Croce song, but it will cut too deep, be too real. ~*~ |
