      Joy of the ‘now’

On this grand-immortal,
starlit night of splintered
cloud, ragged moon,
and raw-raging wind
of Autumn cold,
along this silver
wooded stream and
endless forest paths
  to nowhere,
comes a moonbeam
dream-time of raining
leaves and ancestral spirits
shadow-dancing to
the distant strains of
ancient Native tunes
and Celtic melodies
on youth, chance,
loves, and lives
forever lost
to the irrevocable
march of seasons.
Five hundred million years
of Deep-Time seem suspended
in such a moment of clarity,
heightened consciousness,
infinitely nested connectedness,
and transient joy of the ‘now.’

Bruce, this microcosmic and macrocosmic blend of philosophy and raw Nature in its furious and mystic beauty is exactly what I need right now!  You are going from strength to strength to strength to strength!

Thank you, lovely Ms. D. Such kind comments from a writer as obviously intelligent, erudite, and talented as you are especially gratifying!

Thanks to each of you for you comment/reply posts on this 'ever-so-humble' lil' "poetic scribble!"
Hopefully my writing gives a 'voice' to Gaia in all her facets and environmental stewardship in
particular as well.
