Slow motion strides With a purpose, Their heads turning in unison Searching, stalking prey Onlookers can’t turn away This pair, like a movie Too beautiful yet something Hypnotically defiant Bending, using time A dimension all their own In ours almost dreamlike The flip side of life A promise of more Fear drawing us in Desiring immortality Commercials sell it The appeal is real Defying death At any cost © Copyright 2003 Connie McDonald - All Rights Reserved |

You captured the subtle induction into the belief of possible perfection very well, Connie. Impressive. Margherita |

I quite agree with you synopsis here, Connie. Although we all understand that death is our last hooray, we secretly don't really think we will. I am quite old enough to have already caught the death train, but I am in reasonable health thanks to the miracle drugs. And inside my thoughts is a non-acceptance of dying. Ahhh . . . Would that I had a painting like Dorian Gray had. Heh.Heh ~*~ I want to hear a Jim Croce song, but it will cut too deep, be too real. ~*~ |
