you called the color of our intentional sinful
something between hello ohdamn yellow
and nine and a half weeks vermillion

but you said all you had time for really
was a ribbon of burgundy around your hair
lest it got tangled in this web we wove

and anything else you put on would be ruined
if you stayed long enough to enjoy it
and did I bring the staples along for your toes

to keep them from slipping out of your sandals
when you made your butterfly into a madame
and let her sell pieces of your heart on occasion

to the one with the strings you were attached to

But I like that...and I like the word play here..

it is a twist of daffodil...this is someone sensual sitting on the knee growing more attentive as she lingers there..
