JUST NOW HOME FROM WORK

I particularly love your
“just now home from work” emails
amongst the now “only once a day (except on special occasions) ones”.
They tell of what we still have
though muted and subdued
and sings so birdsong-sweetly and feathertouch-intimately
your you “love me still and always will”, as I do you, songs
and leave me warm-sad and comfort-caressed,
my wounds swathed in bandages of your love.
