sometimes my words hit a vein
so much so
the poem leaks blood
I've forgiven everybody
except the one who seared my soul (id)
so my pen pierces a vein
an artery maybe
diluting the ink which courses through it
its all symbolic anyway
don't'ja'know
its better than writing on my skin
in the vein it is hidden
and I can act
as if it doesn't damage me
pretending
hiding from truth
words about broken dreams
dreams can be purchased
with a handfull
of falling stars
maybe a soupçon of self-respect

are my words
mightier than my traumatized backward glances

You rendered your pain in a very impressive way, Jerry. Excellent poem.

I hit a vein once in a while myself, Jerry.
I guess it's better to hit it with words.

Hah! Yeah, I guess it is better, Ida. It's the artery's that cause the most trouble. Appreciate your read and comments.

I have to agree with the ladies Jerry. And maybe I'm just and old softy but all too often your words prick me too and I can't help but spill a drop or two. You write well my friend.

Yeah, delving in is my style Emma, always has been. I thank you for your continued support.
