Contemplating bygone years, I often reminisce- The dreams and schemes I entertained, And how they led to this. The lies I told, sometimes believed, The faith that I destroyed, The pain I once inflicted- With emotions I once toyed. If I could but turn back the years- I’d take a different tack… And lots of things I’ve said and done, I gladly would take back. I made my bed, or so they say- Now in it I must lie… Another fool from hardships school, And lonely till I die. So youngster, if you’re reading this- ‘Twere better far indeed- To settle down and be a man, And hard earned lessons heed. |

No matter how many mistakes we made in the past as long as we're alive we have "now" to make better choices...James |

We've all been there, the what ifs. We can't go back but maybe and I mean MAYBE we will learn from our mistakes. Enjoyed! Kat >^..^< |

Oh, at least I knew just a few people who really learnt from mistakes made by others ) But I like a poem. |

Wisdom doesn't come falling from the sky like soft snowflakes. And it is never too late to change route ... I enjoyed your poetic reminiscing, John. Margherita |
