She Is

She is setting his heart tonight
by the clockwork of her smile
and there is a broken piece of light
from the setting sun still in denial
that there is anything missing
in the absence of breathless kissing
will she take a reminiscence song
via paper airplane on her lawn
collecting dew
but what else could he do
to prove the world
to the only girl
that makes it turn

She's rousing his senses today
candles set against the breeze
vanishing into the masquerade fray
with only the fishhook moon to see
the electricity between lovers
the chemistry under the covers
will he set all her torches alight
via a soul eager for the flight
between hearts
coastlines still left to chart
to prove the world
to the only girl
that makes it real

And she is
the voice of the last midnight calling bird
inventing the sweetest word
ever to be heard
beyond love
beyond any feeling he ever dreamed of
and she is
and she is

She is settling the wild frontier
at the edge of his mind
and there is a train of tears
ending in a softly lit corner of night
wasted on useless wishing
until he felt that breathless kissing
the air is perfectly scented blue
via love letter he finally knew
the beauty of truth
what else is there to do
but prove the world
to the only girl
that makes it heavenly
all he wants to see
