Fair to middlin' of nowhere

0 posted 2013-08-27 07:02 AM

I guess I 'm not one
for letting go
of water under bridges
spilling milk or tears
I wait in line
while you are too
busy
worried
mad
or tired
to shine
in your spotlight
It is hard
to fault you
for your pride
and determination
that pushes you
to your exhausting ideals
I fear you will
work yourself into the ground
or even worse
into broken and bitter
by the time
it is my time in line
I can't help recall
while you are preoccupied
that even on our hone ymoon
when we should have been
able to share that spotlight
Remember I wanted one day
to just be able to
lay around and love with you
to my heart's content
But you wouldn't hear of it
thinking I expected
a performance of a teenager
But we were on a bike trip
with no particular place to be
It was just the bike and you  and me
headed east to Misouri
And the ride took priority
over me
Just one day
years ago
I can't let go
it still hurts me so
to know my time
in the spotlight
has come and gone
leaving me behind
somewhere
in your background

Ah, Lori this one hurts. Life gives us roses for to see its beauty and to inhale its nectar. Sometimes the rose had been tainted with disease or willful matters and it is difficult, if not impossible to find that beauty.

Pain is a part of life....and maybe I shouldn't put my TMI blood on Pip. But it is never a fatal blood flow, just some blood letting. Sometimes it is more productive to say "read this" than "let's talk" I always have mixed emotions when readers say they can relate to poems such as these...Thank you or I'm sorry. Hugs!

Sorry about the ouch Jerry. Sorry I didn't respond sooner. I was kind of at a loss for words at the time...Thank you for your continuing support.
