Night is stroking my head with soft, velvet fingers as I float in her inky pool. But I have cast a thought into the water and the ripples are spreading. Sleep should have embraced me hours ago But my mind is sorting out possible impossibilities. Ida Werrett |

It's the, "Possible impossibilities" that keep me awake too. I like that phrase, Ida. Your poetry draws such vivid scenes, I feel like I'm in the room. Love your poetry, E |

Fantastic rendering of your nightly experience, dear Ida. Meditation, relaxation while mentally observing those ripples will allow your mind to sort out things independently of your consciousness, on a subconscious level and in the morning you will feel not only refreshed but also you will see things with more clarity. Your first step is just perfect, that launching of the thought in the pond ... now allow yourself to let go, to dwell in a place where everything has already been sorted out, sleep will then embrace you and bring you solutions. It sounds easy, it may not be easy, but it can be learned. I just felt like speaking from my own experience, because your words had such a strong impact. Hugs. Margherita |

Some nights are that way, Ida. The mind will not cooperate insofar as sleep is concerned. In other words your mind has a mind of its own. Heh.Heh ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

I so can relate to the ripples of thought here... endless quantities to sift and sort through. Nights like that I usually just forego sleep all together and pick up the pen. Enjoyed, and fully understand, your ponderings. Michael |

Whilst I could sleep at the drop of a hat, standing on one leg in the middle of the busiest city street, on the last shopping day before Christmas, your poem was so beautifully tapestried, that I lived every word of it completely, Ida - and pondering possibilities is what I immerse myself in. I read every Ida-poem, I find. Owl |
