Mr. Poe be my guest
And honor my request
Please bring Annabel Lee
From Kingdom of the Sea

I think that you will find
We are of the same kind
We Dream Within a Dream
And have both swam upstream
I understand your fears
That is perfectly clear
Sit there, let your heart pour
O'er the lovely Lenore
I've read your poems, Sir Poe
Life for you one of woe
I've my own darkened skies
But I'm not here to cry
I'm here to touch your soul
You're still in a dark hole
And I know a way out
You have to have no doubts
Not like Eldorado
From my mouth peace will flow
You wrote of blackest nights
Gave insight to your plight
The Valley of Unrest
Just shows how much you're stressed
With love I understand
I reach to shake your hand
You left this world too soon
You're heart was not in tune
You died drunk, all alone
With misery in your bones
And of the things you've sown
Beware The Conqueror Worm
Its there to make you squirm
Forgive yourself you must
In me you have to trust
I know how; listen now
And I will show you how
You don't think that you can
Man can't forgive same man
But back then you did things
And your soul they did sting
Though dead you've had no rest
Peace is your only quest
You are not the same now
As you were when you plowed
Through life doing things wrong
It was many years long
That was then; you are here
Please just lend me your ear
Admit you're not the same
Who brought you so much shame
So! If you are not him
Who did things on a whim
You can forgive that stranger
Without any danger
It's simple isn't it
Now you're free from that pit
Go back to being dead
No longer have to dread
Before you go you know
Take with you that damn crow
Not a crow; a raven
I think its a graven
Yes, I recall that lore
Goodbye and nevermore

Jerry, this is probably the most powerful tribute and with the most proof of readership, to a poet and storyteller I have ever read !  Wow!  Well done!

Thanks so much Owl, this is something I have been thinking about for a long time, but didn't think I was qualified to talk" to Poe.
