A Foot Prayer ( from last summer it's true) |

The day was near the end yet the heat still linger like a hungry cat. I had my fill of stories made of stone, cloth and paint. Delighted was I, until my feet screamed in pain. Throbbed as if I drew blood from thorns in the form of brown sandals. Made it worst...was the walking, miles of walking. At times I stopped adjusted my sandals each block, rested in the heat of a burning sun. Alas I was near home, the sun quietly slipped away yet my pain stayed in hot pursuit. At my wits end I cast my foot upon the naked ground. Clutching my sandals, as if holding two misbehaving children..I looked to the sky. "Lord, if I may ask of one thing let me walk from where I stand to my home. And let not one piece of glass, stone, nail or any unclean thing cast it's way in my path. I would be most grateful....Amen" I placed one foot forward, then the other. Placed my trust in HIM, humming all the way home. Came to my door as the sky was arrayed in a hue of colors and said "Thank you for the protecting" Filled with joy for the Lord to answer anything even a foot prayer. |

This was absolutely delightful Ken206573! I have whispered similar prayers many a time, and lucky were the times I could toss the shoes off and walk a mile "without" shoes. Thanks for the smile, I enjoyed this! Best wishes, /Kit |

I so appreciate your poem. God is so good! He watches over us as we journey down our paths each and every moment of each and every day and, you know, he does it for so many of us without receiving any word or gesture of thankfulness in return. None! None, whatsoever! And, here, you've shown us how it's done in your poem. So Beautiful. I do appreciate your spirit and, again, I so appreciate your poem. |
