Beware The Spider You . . . break my heart! Pieces fall like tears, splotch the ground, color red, or is it the ground that’s red, the splotches, wet, deepening it’s hue. Fall knocks loose leaves from sleepy trees, somber yellows and browns. Red’s what I see most, a splotch on brown, an edge on yellow, centered and spread, multi-hues of shredded heart, falling, f a l l i n g Beer used to revive me, lift me above the pain, move me from inner to outer space where everything was okay and you were only a star way out there, very dim, almost gone. The universe collapsed . . . I vomited on the bar room floor, ticked people off, suffered badly the next day, was burned by the disapproval of your fiery glare in the only picture I have left: bedside table, your side of the bed, so I have to lean over you to see it. Pieces of heart fall like tears, die in the depth of thick brown carpet, no color at all. Disapproval . . . even from the floor. Men are so slow-witted when touched by a woman – Beware the Spider! She'll make you cry. © wesley james beard, jr. april 6, 2013 (not about me) |

Very colorful! ...um, except maybe the vomit on the bar room floor, but, yeah, come to think of it, that makes for colorful poetry as well. I appreciate how you take the extra bit of time to display your poetry just right. Enjoyed! |

Nice...its something to do with attractions vs. attachments...attractions are ok but attachments can bring much emotional suffering...James |

Pieces of heart fall like tears, die in the depth of thick brown carpet, It doesn't seem to matter the perspective or the situation... when a poem is really good, I'll always find lines that feel like they're mine. *S* |
