(So as some of you know, for the first time in my life I have a friend who now shares a most special, intimate connection with me, of which my first few comeback poems here honored and blessed her!

Despite this, I haven't told most of my closest loved ones this because they frown upon relationships where the partners have age disparities of more than five years...........and because this dearest friend of mine is someone who is over two decades older than me, I fear if I were to try to explain the source of my feelings and my feelings for her that I would be judged and vilified.

So, I wrote this country song-like poem at what was my first public poetry reading in over a decade in celebration of the launch of Issue Six of a Mid-Willamette Valley arts publication called Midnight Muse Magazine: which my first published poem in over a decade, as well as my very first modeling magazine photospread, is featured in. And because this most beautiful friend of mine is also the same person who inspired me to take up my passion in modeling as well, I wanted to perform something that both served as a tribute to her, as well as inspire discussion and emotional release...............and after reading this and crying myself near the end of it, I received a standing ovation and many walked up to me after the reading and said this made them cry in a way readings rarely accomplish, especially in how emphatically my love for her was clearly reflected in my delivery and non-verbal language.

So now I'm sharing it with y'all too! Blessings! )

Somewhere Between April & July

...they could say,
I’m naïve,
I’m not seeing clearly,
they could say,
desperation,
has laid siege,
in this fragile heart...
.
.
.
...but you’re a,
ravishing,
riddle of why my heart’s,
been beating,
from the beginning,
that can never be answered,
but you still coax me into solving…
.
.
.
Because in essence we are mirrors,
our rapport growing ever dearer,
we’re only the age of our hearts,
we’re only each as young as our faith,
nothing can slow our beating hearts,
greet nervous laughs with gentle disregard,
everything in the air we breathe is timeless,
and our love lives for the day,
we’re both still yet growing,
still finding our ways,
discovering a special place,
in all this breathing space,
and nothing can slow our beating hearts,
tonight,
somewhere between April and July…
.
.
.
...I’ve felt too much now,
to turn away,
and there’s much more,
left to say,
because everything,
I’ve learned to see,
I’ve learned from your eyes…
.
.
.
…and on days,
gazing into your eyes,
I can see you’re,
preoccupied,
with the fear of getting older,
and as I squeeze your hand,
just glimpsing the world behind your eyes,
makes me start to cry….
.
.
.

…you see,
your beauty is the shadow,
of a goddess on the galaxy,
that I’ve lived all this time to discover,
and now that I’ve found, I believe…
.
.
.
In essence we are mirrors,
our rapport growing ever dearer,
we’re only the age of our hearts,
we’re only each as young as our faith,
nothing can slow our beating hearts,
greet nervous laughs with gentle disregard,
everything in the air we breathe is timeless,
and our love lives for the day,
we’re both still yet growing,
still finding our ways,
discovering a special place,
in all this breathing space,
and nothing can slow our beating hearts,
tonight,
somewhere between April and July…
.
.
.
It’s no matter I’m less tired,
And you’re more in need of the serenity,
Of more simple untangled arms,
That have longed to find sanctuary,
Reality is subjective,
and as long as we’re in embrace,
I want to gaze at the news of my heart,
suffused on your divine face…
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
...because we are mirrors,
our rapport growing ever dearer,
we’re only the age of our hearts,
we’re only each as young as our faith,
nothing can slow our beating hearts,
greet nervous laughs with gentle disregard,
everything in the air we breathe is timeless,
and our love lives for the day,
we’re both still yet growing,
still finding our ways,
discovering a special place,
in all this breathing space,
and nothing can slow our beating hearts,
tonight,
somewhere between April and July…

It is in the mirror of your life, Noah, that you will truly find yourself. Be good to you. Be kind to this inner knowledge, because it is and will be for some time a very cruel world. My mind, and heart, want me to tell you very certain things....but my soul wants to give you wings.

Trust, Noah, in yourself, and mind deeply your conscience. And know well your friends. Always.

Awwwwwwwwww, thanks you both! =D =D =D

I was well-aware posting this that it would have such controversial weight to many. I just want to live authentically, and be open and honest about my experiences.........because I have come to realize that nothing has any meaning save the meaning we apply to it. And I feel many of us are led to believe when we are raised, well throughout our years often, that love and lust are two completely juxtaposed concepts that never meet halfway. That love is always romantic and lust is always sexual, for instance.

I have grown to believe there are all kinds of hues and shades of love and lust, and sometimes lust truly can inspire love. I truly believe there are many different kinds of love, and though our relationship is a no-strings attached sort, we share something absolutely special that we have allowed to grow naturally for nearly four years! (wipes warm tears) =D

Thanks you both! (big hugs)

XOXO,
Noah Hibiscus Eaton

You have always had such a tender soul and it comes through in your writing, Noah. This is a lovely piece. I'm happy to hear it was received with such warmth after your reading as well. Take care of you and your heart.

Best wishes,
/Kit
