       Every Wild Surprise

Step out of the Winter twilight
  into a dazzling dawn
as forest pools mirror
the perfect sunrise sky,
and a gentle April breeze
sings softly to the morning star,
in the fragrant voice of Spring,
of all the promise in this season
  and new love.
May Nature teach us her grand
and simple truth this day
  in every wild surprise!

. . . especially . . .
quote:
in every wild surprise!

Like those surprises and most everything else you called forth at the onset of spring, Bruce . . . Nicely constructed poem.

Another soft and gentle wild surprise of expressed nature. Enjoyed.

Spring always seems like "a wild surprise" even though we know it's coming. You've captured this wonderful renewal beautifully, Bruce.

Much along the lines of what Yann said, Nature has a way of awakening us out of dark despair, desperation and panic into bliss, peace and a calm contentedness, higher, more ethereal and more secure than the wildest happiness - and into pure gratitude for every moment of life itself.  Your exquisite poem, Bruce, and the beautiful day today in Durban (as almost every day here is, in one way or another), brought all this to me.  Thank you for that.  It came most opportunely for me.

Many thanks to each of you for your most kind comments about this lil' 'poetic scribble' of mine ...

when I re-read a cross section of the (over a thousand now) 'writes' I've done and
contemplate my particular Zen Tao ... although I arrived at a very many of the same
conclusions independently ... I guess I'm fundamentally an 'accidental' Buddhist.
