Battles Won and Lost If all, might have the means To watch “The Military Channel” If they watch with eyes wide open They’ll see, a vision of hell. But, even some who watch Will, try hard to justify Why, we send, our young to fight And, say, “It’s alright, they die!” Especially those, who sit at home, And, watch wars from, far away They are only (the smart ones or) cowards Who, turn, and run away. It’s really so easy for them To say, “We should fight this war!” Especially when, they don’t care What, we are fighting for. As long, as they don’t have to go If, they have a loved one not killed Or one, who comes home maimed Their wishes, are fulfilled. To be the World’s police To tell, all others what to do Say, “What we know, is right‼ Someday, you’ll be just like us, too” Like mankind has always done The means, justify, the end “Love” is written on each bullet And, on each bomb, we send. “Don’t you get the message?’ “We’re fighting wars, for Peace!” (And, to make, a few bucks) Like we did, with the Lend-Lease. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lend-Lease In the name of honor (?) Or, to make some people free A reason to kill our fellow man Is, the only, way we see? Every citizen should serve some time In military, for four years To have the thoughts, in case of war They’ll, have to know those fears. They don’t have to fight them But, just to know, that they might That someone might kill them If, they get them in their “sight”. The wrong thing about it all Is that, we don’t hate, each other We just listen to those idiots Who say, “Go and kill, your Brother!” Del “Abe” Jones 02.17.2012 Del "Abe" Jones |

I do admire your conviction, Abe. Don't always agree with you, but the beauty is I don't have to. Your voice is strong. A |
