I, alone among millions more like me streets of New York City staring into the faces of evil those that were pinched with worry self-doubt and insanity after a while I, too, knew what it was like to worry which coincided with self-doubt bordering on the timorous edge of madness I walked the high wire of obstinate resolve looking down from that high wire although I was told not to but I was free and . . . those were the days, my friend we thought they'd never end* ©February 7, 2013 / Jerry Pat Bolton *"Those Were the Days My Friend," written by Eugene Raskin Sung by many artists. ~*~ If they give you ruled paper write sideways . . . ~*~ |

Yeah, good piece, Jerry ... and "those were the days" ... I remember Humperdinck's version ... and there was another but can't bring it to mind --- but not Hopkins, didn't really like her version, I'm thinking of .... think it was male too. j. |

Thanks, J, for dropping by and your input. I actually liked Hopkins version. I know Cream had a song out by the name of "Those Were The Days," but I don't think it was the same song. Again, much obliged for you presence here. ~*~ If they give you ruled paper write sideways . . . ~*~ |

Okay, you and Jimmy are ganging up on me with Humperdinck's version. It took me three months giggling over his name before I could actually really listen to him. He was a great stylist, and I liked him very much. Have not the slightest idea what happened to him. Thanks, Victoria, appreciate the input . . . ~*~ If they give you ruled paper write sideways . . . ~*~ |

I picked up on perhaps a wee bit of satire from this one. Nice reflection. ![]() |
