I stand here Looking down At the bones of my life Pages turned Pages yet to be turned I thought by now I’d be quite dead Never thought I’d make it past thirty Still . . . There are pages yet to be turned Dreams yet to be thought About who I could have been About who I am I have tattoos Would the other me Have done so I’ve walked on the wild side Wallowed in danger's bed Grinning all the while These are the pages of moi If I could live my life over Would I chase the same Nightmares ©Jerry Pat Bolton ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ [This message has been edited by JerryPat2 (02-17-2012 07:06 AM).] |

Jerry, there is nothing better than a book that still has pages left to turn. I love the metaphor in this. |

"If I could live my life over Would I chase the same Nightmares" I believe the answer to that is yes. Lives stay the same, once the moments of them are lived..it still would be you in the same situations, without any control over it. But what is important here is the contemplations, and like Nicole said, the metaphor is well chosen. Well done JP |

Thank you supremely, Nicole, for your indepth observation of my poem. <><> Yep, I imagine you are correct in your assumption, Ice, that I would indeed chashe thew same nightmare. Appreciate your revelation. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |
