within my delicate dreams numbed standing in the shadows hidden pilfering excerpts from thoughts of joy conjured up from midnight's mysterious moon a thief is a thief even though you steal from yourself restlessly I tried to awake before the first light silently watching, waiting the shadowy me space walking across the moonscape bent forward into a slither larceny so strong it had a smell
what would I want to steal from myself?
as I slumbered I became rigid deep my stalking of the thief that was me into the room faint light shone my thieving self, dumb to extreme walked out of the shadow to confront me I saw his smile stretch my way the muted sounds of daylight was apparent oh my now I know what my thief would rob he took the night so there would be morn

Enjoyed this, but I have a slightly different take on it.
Come take from me, I don’t need the daylight, preferring the night, Steal that great light bulb in the sky Cover it with clouds passing by Make the darkness always nigh. Come take from me And all be next to mourning.

Hmm? Steal the night and give us another chance to make things right - maybe? Enjoyed the read, Jerry.
