The sky is starless in a black opal night,
but the full moon is discontented.
The insecure sun coveting moonlight,
and ebony winds are disenchanted.

Dark tides murmur within cold-blooded seas
as emerald seaweed clings to the shore.
The cold dark waves beckon and tease,
while a fabled nymph seduces deaths door.

Upon a sunken vessel of pleasures,
is a harbor in the deep sea trenches
Skeletons in an ocean of treasures,
blood rubies, and bones of pirate wenches.

A beacon light warns of treacherous shoals.
within bleak ocean of lost phantom souls.

Perfect eerie flavor for your Dark Tides. They have a gripping sensation.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Ah, this reminds me of the Greek mythology story of the sirens, the sea nymphs who lured sailors to their death with bewitching songs. Actually I prefer your version best, Victoria. Loved this verse, I guess because of the pirate's wenches. Hah!
quote:
Upon a sunken vessel of pleasures,
is a harbor in the deep sea trenches
Skeletons in an ocean of treasures,
blood rubies, and bones of pirate wenches.

Thank you Jerry..It was fun writing...took me away from the romantic poetry for a change. I'm glad you liked it.
