What Will Be Since my poems weren’t written for you I’m still somewhat satisfied with them. Over time, I may tweak a word here or there shifting them to fit the wrinkles, to fill in the supple. I won’t rid myself of their comfort until the moment when I notice my passion waning ~ and only then will I take to them a match ~ to encompass in a second the spark, yellow and blue luminous flames burning oxygen as if the poems had been life ~ whereby my poems and I will become ash and together return to our Maker. © KRJ 2-27-13 |

Good to see you making an appearance, Karilea. This one is classic YOU! Your writing, for the most part, gives the reader a chance to catch their breaths before they read the ending and gasp . . . ~*~ If they give you ruled paper write sideways . . . ~*~ |

Thank you, Jerry, for your kind and honest words. I've been sharing a bit on Facebook...these last two poems posted today just "came"....and I had to try hard to recapture this one as it hit me in the middle of browning beef ribs for a turn in the slow cooker....I had to grab pen and paper to go back and reform the words...I thought I had just the first few lines [enough by themselves] and then the rest of it just came. Perhaps my muse came home? HUGS! |

I quite understand how poems just "come" to poets, and unless we can get the damn thing written quickly it leaves and never again returns . . . ~*~ If they give you ruled paper write sideways . . . ~*~ |

I often wonder if the great poets, that we still read, thought that their poems would die with them. Ida |
