THANK YOU, GOD 16 February 2013 Thank you God, for saving the life of precious little kitty cat Kate. Our faith stopped our sobs and dried our tears and You blessed our faith and heard our prayers and supplication, as we knew You would, and You sent miracle after miracle and gave Ruth happy Kate-and-Colin kitty cat stories to send me over the ocean again. Owl I have posted this with the kind permission of my sister-in-cats, Ruth (suthern), mainly about my furry little niece Kate, but also about my furry little nephew, Colin. Ruth is busy tending to Kate and making up for missed time at work and may not be able to reply to this for some time. I told her that I would rather that she spent her time looking after Kate and catching up with her work, than replying to the poem that she and Kate and Colin have already seen and enjoyed immensely. |

Thank you, Yann. Well, yes, there is a little bit of humour in the message below the poem (I think that is what you meant), but the poem itself is very serious. Kate(Ruth (suthern)'s cat), has been very, very seriously ill - it is to do with her heart - and most cats don't survive what she has gone through. However, thank goodness, because of Ruth, and her veterinary surgeon and his wife and the specialist and the survivor instincts of Kate, and our prayers, she is on the road to recovery. However, the veterinary surgeon says that she has at the very most only a year to live. However, Ruth, and Kate and I believe that she will live longer than that. Thank you, Yann, for loving the poem and for loving the fact that I love cats. Smiles. Owl |

Thank you God, indeed - for the miracle of Kate's survival thus far and for the friends who've lifted a tiny little cat, her brother and their loving "ma" in their prayers. Knowing that Kate's life expectancy is very limited breaks my heart. But less than half the cats with her heart disease survive the first incident - it is a silent killer and most die within 48 hours of the the first symptoms. Kate beat those odds - and whether we have only days, weeks, months or that year that a few similarly afflicted kitties achieve - I am grateful for each moment. Every hour is a gift - for me and for Kate's brother and constant companion (who has health issues of his own) - Colin. Colin (front) and Kate on "their" balcony (note that the "princess" is posing LOL) Thank you, Owl, for this beautiful prayer of thanksgiving! And to you and all those who have prayed and continue to do so... my everlasting gratitude. Ruth aka suthern aka Kate & Colin's mom |

My dear sister-in-cats, Ruth, thank YOU for having kept me in the loop and for your beautiful heartfelt reply here. I got into Pip last night and just managed to see your reply, but then lost my connection and couldn’t get it back. This morning, fearing the same, before even checking to see whether I already had this photo of Kate and Colin (which I did), I saved it into my Suthern’s kitties folder along with others of them and 2 of Cosette in Heaven. I am so happy that Katie-girl is doing better. I do understand – and I know you know I do – how serious her condition is – but I believe with all my heart, that she is going to give us a wonderful surprise and live longer than we expect. She will always have my powerpunch prayers, as of course, Colin has had for a long time, and you, too, of course. I am just so grateful that they both have such a wonderful Mommy in you, as they do. Hugs (very, very gentle ones to Kate) to the three of you Owl |

Seems to me, love is the greatest healer. A cat's life has been extended by love. I wish all pets had owners like you two. The world would be a better place Liz |

Thank you Liz and Ida, for your kind words. Liz you are so right! Kate is so loved by so many and Ruth is such a wonderful loving mother to Kate and Colin and they are such happy cats. Ida, you are so right too! Kate and Colin are SO beautiful! I can’t understand how people can possibly not love animals. They are without sin – sometimes full of mischief, lol, but not sin – and they are just so incredibly lovable. Please give all 5 of your precious kitty cats, a big hug and kiss and cuddle from Auntie Di from sunny South Africa. Owl |

Our miracle lasted 65 days - the memories stockpiled during those precious days are priceless. Forever wouldn't be long enough and my heart is breaking - but I am grateful - for her entire life and the love she gave to me throughout every minute of it. She and Colin truly blessed me. Thank you so much to everyone who kept us in your thoughts, held us in your hearts, lifted us in prayer - or just appreciated her beauty. Extra thanks to Owl - for everything. She and Colin were littermates and inseparable - he is lost. So if you have an extra prayer for a sweet little cat missing his constant companion... I thank you. KATE 07/08/06-04/19/13 |

Thank you for the lovely reminder, about how precious God's little furbabies are and how wonderful it is when there are people that care enough about them, not to just look away and ignore them like wretched refuse. |

Ruth, thank you for posting this in here and with a final photo of my beloved niece, Kate. As you know, my heart goes out to you and Colin, and judging from my own devastation and the worst of the sobbing that I keep thinking I have left behind and the wrenching of my gut and the tearing and ripping of my heart into shreds, I cannot begin to imagine what you and Colin must be going through. As you know, you and Colin are constantly in my prayers. You are the bravest person I know, and the most altruistic, constantly doing what is best for your kitties, no matter the monetary or personal cost to you. You are truly the best kitty mommy I have ever met and I am so glad that Kate had you and Colin, and that Colin had you and Kate, and that you and Colin have each other now because the two of you are the best souls on earth to comfort each other. God bless you and Colin on Earth and Kate in Heaven. Kate is with Cosette now and all your other fur babies in Heaven, and of course, Flicka, Tigger and Daisy. Hugs to you and Colin Owl/Auntie Di |
