Suffer not the unloving to come unto me,
the deceitful, the liars, the selfish, greedy,
for they are the ones who suck energy
and swallow it down into dark, dingy, pits.

That pit a hollow deep under the ground
from which they appear to stalk and haunt
and then the pounce, the feed and despatch
of whatever remains into their abode.

They celebrate there and adorn skeletons
with all the evil contained in their shells
and sometimes when lazy chew on the bones
reliving again the thrill of the kill.

The evil, the evil, the devil’s recruits,
wear regal robes of humanity
and walk the catwalk like the unscathed
with not ever a slip until the grave.

That grave, of course, deep under the ground
where friends and neighbours too are lazy
and they’ll feed on the bones of their friends
until evil outweighs the scale.

Up they will come to stalk and haunt
so don’t ever think you’re safe in your bed
without the protection of mindful intent
to keep the devil out of your head!

Forever alert and forever mindful, Helen, for the grotesque imp within the  very ground we walk on. They are not our friends.

People like that do suck the energy out of you for sure...yes the devil recruits is right. Enjoyed reading your words Helen. Nicely done.

Cool, in it's Vincent Price way, my friend ...macabre, and definitely fitting of a scary movie opening scene...could just see everything as the credits roll across the screen ... chilling.

Much enjoyed.
