Tired of sighing, tired of crying Tired of wishing I was dying I cannot be me without you Door bell's silent, phone's not ringing Tired of waiting and hand wringing I know now just what I must do Fears of rejection are mocking As I stand at your door knocking But some risks just must be taken Are you still angry? Will you yell? Will you send my hopes straight to hell? Coming here, was I mistaken? and then you said 'hello' and opened the door wide and took my trembling hand and welcomed me inside Your arms, your heart – forever I was not alone in missing My beloved's lips I'm kissing And all of the hurt disappears Oh, what joy! We're reunited In your arms, my world is righted You gently brush away my tears and then you said 'will you?' and dropped down to one knee and took my trembling hand and pledged your love to me Now we'll face life together Now we'll face life together I wrote this little song a couple of years ago... and probably should leave it in its hiding place or move it on into the dumpster. LOL But it's Valentine's Day... what better time for poor sappy rhymes? LOL |

Not so sappy. Everyone likes a happy ending, suthern. Well, most everybody does. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

secondhanddreampoet: Thank you! JL: Just be grateful you don't have to hear my singing, dear friend! LOL Thank you so much! JerryPat: I'll keep hoping for a happy ending till my life ends, I guess... And I can write about 'em even if I can't find 'em! Thank you!! Michael: I know... I usually hate the world so much on Valentine's Day I can't even express all my angst, poetically or not! LOL But the sap lurks beneath... and seeps out every decade or so. LOL Thank you so much! *S* |

If one doesn't keep hoping, wishing, trying, one NEVER sees (what one is looking for). Great write, my friend, and no matter what, the dream must be kept! j. |

JamesMichael: Thank you so much - both for your understanding comment and for digging to find this one! *S* Strummer: One of the great things about writing is I can choose the ending... just wish I could in real life! LOL Thank you! ebonygirl: Thank you so much, sweet friend... I'm glad you enjoyed! *S* jwesley: Hope's become quite battered through the years, but I'm wishing... I'm trying... I'm trying... I'm trying! LOL Thank you so much!! Sunshine: Smiles are good... thank you! *S* Owl: Thank you! *S* The challenge phrase was "and then you said"... I read it and the song was born... annoying me until I wrote it down. *S* |

We must give hope abundant room in our lives and that's what you have done here and very beautifully so, dear Ruth. Love, Margherita |
