I once was open to the mystery of how and why life happened to be and then came love to make me then see life’s just a game everyone plays. There are no rules that govern me but still the small print, free-will, you see and I throw the dice, gather the chips, and bet I can overthrow my destiny. But trust your heart, I surely think not for heart is a-skewed by love’s honesty that not now or ever will fit into that box marked “self-centeredness”. It is my life, it is, it is, and yet without love it’s a travesty of life’s ever abiding deep mystery I came to know when open, you know. But you don’t know, you’re closed to “the know” when ensconced in that damn awful box but it’s not your fault; you’re a child, yes, a child of this great and expansive deep mystery termed, of course, the Universe! To be the only one understanding the deep mysteries of life and the universe causes for many tormented and sleepless nights. Would that love was an adhering salve t the heart and not, so many, many times, be what breaks it. Really enjoyed and identified with this one, Helen. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

Sometimes we can fix the broken, and sometimes it takes the broken to initiate the fix. What is closed can be opened, what is open can be closed; but that takes effort. You always make me think, however wrong I might be in my thinking. Enjoyed the read. JL Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. Love your neighbor as yourself. Maranatha! |

Thanks, Jerry, Victoria and JL. Your comments always make me think so thank you for them. I think, however, that I'm going into a stage of not wanting to think anymore. Perhaps that's not possible but worth a try. Helen |

Romantic love (or lack of) seeems to cause so much pain to so many but there are times when I can't help but wish that was all I had ever lost. Perhaps I have already stopped thinking. Ida |

"however, that I'm going into a stage of not wanting to think anymore" I am just trying to grow out of this stage...and have decided there are just so many levels of love and caring that sometimes we just have to accept them. (Your title gave me a reason to write this morning) M |

Ahh, dear Helen, there you are once again, with your stirring poetic ponderings! In my opinion it's not a matter of not thinking anymore, it's a matter of how we approach LOVE and of how deeply we can be aware of being IMMERSED IN LOVE. We are, yes, children of Eternity and what are we doing here? We are learning to LOVE. To LOVE means to let go of thoughts of lack of love. YOU ARE DEEPLY LOVED. Human hearts may seem closed sometimes, for fear of failings. So what can we do, besides feeling the pain of "rejection"? We can LOVE, despite closed heart-doors. Love penetrates easily whatever matter and it expands and reflects ... In letting go thoughts of lack, we create ideal conditions to be filled anew and to perceive that very energy of love that we might have denied. Hugs. Thank you all so much for your comments. I value each and every one of them. I guess we never can stop thinking or for that matter stop feeling but it can drain one sometimes. life will be as life is and love will always be as love is even if there's no visible "object" of that love. Thanks again. Helen |
