A breath of air bodes of sweet spring And urges winter on his way. A red breast robin on the wing Is looking for a place stay, To build a nest without delay. The signs of spring are all around Answering to Nature’s set alarms. Snowbells are pushing from the ground, While bees steal from a blossom’s charms And workers harvest flowers on farms. In spring the world is young again With new life sprouting everywhere. Forgotten is the cold and pain. As winter leaves without fanfare, We rush to meet spring in mid-air. By: Joyce Johnson |

Yes, it has sure been spring-like down here in the swamp for weeks, but for the last two days old man winter has grabbed us in his cold grip letting us know that we still have some unpleasant weather to get through before the roses bloom. I enjoyed the upbeat poem. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

Got the same weather as Jerry in my area, but I much agree with your poem ... I do love all the rain we've gotten lately (last week or two), about 6" or so according to my rain gauage. Watch/listen to the birds --- spring definitely on the horizon ... and the plants too. Enjoyed, my friend. j. |
