How I long for another coffee with her.
How deeply I miss her.
I just sent her an email at work
to remind her:
she is loved and missed and cared about
by so many of us who need her.
I don't want to bring it up when we’re at work.
its office work, not coffee.
It’s clinic as far as I know
and I don't really have any work for her to do.
Won't come in until there is.
Last year, before the friendship coffees,
I came in like, maybe twice a year.
we won't have another one, I think, for a very, very long time.
And I don’t even want to think about that.
I don’t even know
how they manage their valuable time up there,
All the tedious twaddle that is office work sometimes.
It was she, it seemed
Who wanted me to coffee with her.
Maybe, when the time seems right, I’ll ask her.

Because it does beg the question:
Why?
Yet how mysterious and how wonderful!
What if she values my time
Every bit as I do her’s?
Like, how do I get an appointment with you?
What if she is thinking, too:
How can I get more time with you
When there’s so little work for us to do?
And I really do miss you too
And it may take SO many months …
When, O, When can I coffee with you again?
I Couldn’t send her this at work … …
Could I?
Who pays to fill the world with silly love songs?
What’s wrong with that?

I wish I could invite you both for coffee and blueberry muffins.Alas I can not, and do not know either of you. But I wish~~~~
