Searching for the right words, Noun's adjectives, and so forth. Sometimes they're right there to pick, But some scamper off to the north. If you're lucky words come in gales, And fresh idea are yours to hold. It's then you're happy you're alive, Everything you touch turns to gold. It's then that the sun dazzles you, And gives to you a healthy flush. Making those dark days disappear, You feel giddy like a first crush. And you revel in the moment, And forget the bad days of yore. When words you used were all spoiled, All you could do was walk the floor. So when the words come, just be glad, That the well is full for you. But be careful of arrogance, For someday they'll be sparse and few. ©December 16, 2012 / Jerry Pat Bolton ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

quote: You have found just the perfect words to render these "writer-feelings", dear Jerry. How true they echo in the mind! I especially love the quoted lines. The "giddy" state may be rare because true satisfaction fills us rarely, but when it happens it's just exactly how you describe it! Your warning is also well placed, because indeed no one is always in top form of receptivity, the listening to the muse or inner voice can be disturbed, when the mind wanders towards the daily challenges of other nature. Absolutely wise and very well expressed. I guess more or less all can relate. Margherita |

I like to lay in bed at night when it is dark and quiet and think. I remember my first love. I saw him drive up in his maroon super sport...our first date...and I ran into the bathroom and threw up my spaghetti and meatball dinner. Is that giddy enough for you Jerry ha!! ~Victoria |

I mean what you know... Words heading north like geese in the spring, and salmon looking for love in all the wrong places... that too might just be a bit verbose. Especially if you have no where to go for words. Enjoyed reading of your exploit in the English language. JL Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. Love your neighbor as yourself. |

Hello, JL, and mucho gracious for the great comments, especially the love-struck salmon winding up in the mouth of a grizzly, or is that black bear, can't remember. Good to see you, man. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

Oh, I hear you, CG. I usually carry a pen around, but the first time I forget it is when the inspirations comes, and yes, by the time I get back home it has slithered away. Thank you for stopping by. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |
