in the dark of an alleyway therein can be found charm in the bright lights of the city you can find personified hate within the rubble of skid row lying there covered with rags at first he sounds incoherent listen close he speaks profound in the cauldron of the rich and famous where their muck & mire are concealed simmering in spotless rooms immorality hides in corner shadows what you see and what you hear is cloaked in your point of view ©January 18, 2013 / Jerry Pat Bolton ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

This is really good jerry...and a blank verse sonnet form too. Yes it doesn't matter if you are rich or poor and yes everybody has a story. You said it well. ~Victoria |

Enjoyed this and the many ways to read into it. Jerry P I read most all of what you write. And enjoy. Time and computer sharing just blunts my time. jo |

Thank you ever so much, Jo, and I thank you again for reading much of what I write (and liking it). I appreciate the time taken to read this poem and to comment on it, especially know how sharing the computer isn't conducive to time to comment. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

quote: Awesome depiction of what most never come to see... that man who has given up, that man who has embraced nothingness, is one of the few enlightened who realize the futility of everything around them, and the reason for it. Nicely done, Jer. Michael |

Ah, Michael, from one who has walked down the mean streets of America I have seen and heard much. You are right, the man who speaks gibberish because he has given himself to Sweet Lucy has histories that we can only hope to have, but, as you say, gave it and everything else up. The reason? A different reason for each poor soul lying in the gutter. I could have been one of those men, but I was lucky to have fought my way out of the streets. Sometimes I wonder, was I really lucky? Yes. I think I was. Appreciate your thoughts, Michael. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |
