In this quiet In the half dark Not yet dawn You’ve come again Of your own volition Nameless though I know you However changing without form Oh I have learned To respect your silence For its feeling That most important presence Focused by absent sound And I turn within A someone no one sees Who only belongs to you What did I do To bring you so often In these my latter years To let me know you’re here .
