A deep purple sky sparkles
with jewels of the night shining.
A river of moonlight flows
through bedroom window glowing.
A raven stalks the dark
in shadows of night harking.
The fragrance of the night
blooms like a red rose blooming.
Ebony wind in the trees
upon my window clawing.
In lantern of my dreams
seduction is burning.
Emerald eyes of the dark
creeps like a jewel thief creeping.

Love is a smoke made with the fume of sighs.
William Shakespeare

A lovely molment captured in your words.
I shall carry those words with me today.
Surely my load has lifted a little because of them.

Shades of the master of the dark, Mr. Poe, you have done yourself well here, Victoria. The title is a masterpiece, never mind the poem itself. I am partial to "dark" poetry, and you delivered enormously with this one . . .
