Autumn use to say its favorite season were shades of her brown hair. When her heart reached the slow wind she traveled in her high heels a flannel shirt, loosely fit over her black jean pants Every evening she would stand in front of the bluffs looking onward as the sun set over the sea and as it set her eyes left a girls quiet thoughts and the stem of a rose fell from the front of her breasts down to where her thinly skimmed ankles had strap laces over them Her oft put attitude carried the fires strong flames Onto the flame of her transient heart for one woman locked her hair into a ball of yarn and bent the side of the levee towards her white skirt like the deer that hid in the snow from the shadows of her ranch home Her black leather jacket worn from the years of a woman whose tears during the deers dry run were the betrayal of her fathers fears and she stood ominous, waiting for her stare read the woods and her father finally returned. |
