I lived in the enchantment of the country within the quiet forest and majestic trees. I watched as the bluejays and red-breasted robins bathed in the showers of the rain and the white-tailed deer stalked the night leaving footprints in the snow The wonders of nature was all I needed until we met quite by chance and you sent me yellow roses and the forest of the night became ablaze with passion. I was your Texas rose and your words of tenderness passion and romance touched me in a way I had never known. I was in awe of you. We were in awe of each other. I would have followed you to China or even Down Under to be with you A Wine, Woman and Song man, I knew you were all wrong for me, but I took a chance listening to the voice of passion within my heart but our love faded away when fate stepped in and raised her jealous hand and slapped me across the face My tears were on the edge of love and hate and pledged never to fall in love again You were my Wine, Women and Song man You were my darling, you were the last. When velvet petals of moonlight glow within the quiet forest and the trees The essence of yellow roses lingers within the moonflowers of the night. A poem is never finished, only abandoned. - Paul Valery (1871-1945) |

Ahh, Vickie, never say never. True love is still a few steps away, turn a corner and there he will be; the one who has been waiting on you all this time. A lover, a true lover. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

Your poem and the yellow roses you write of speak to me in so many ways. There is a place in my garden for the splash of color he brought to my life at one time... and a piece of my heart that is just for him. Funny, I don't think he ever knew. Pretty poetry, V~ |

so sad and sweet.. just as in life.. what can we do except be the blooms that yearn for the warmth, bask in its light, and then wither back, to where we came.. lovely |

"within the moonflowers of the night" love that expression, now that's where the romance of promise lingers, penning those words sums a poetic soul which nevers stops loving, a poem is a sigh |
