Then dragons flew and I was lost in admiration of the lightning. Thunder fell from clouds that swirled and kissed the rooftops, pulled them toward a heaven that waits for us all. In vain. Nan (Pilgrim variety) |

Nan, I was busy feeling and celebrating this gorgeous poem's magnificence (despite the horror of people losing their roofs - but I understand that that wasn't the point of the moment - it was the power of the storm in all its glory - well, up to then, anyhow) - and then I was hit in the solar plexus by the last line.
