a lantern fragile flame aloft makes her mark between the stars sputtering my emptiness to you, in troth against the stars a dropped baton a close endeavor to your heart I pray my wish as fragile claim torched and scorched your heart your name a dance is just a spark flambeaux in that easy drift-away dotting stars like puzzles tried wept empty in my sleep and dreams are eyelids quickly quivering carrying the wake of flame tossing up our toes. |

This beautiful, tremor-sensitive gem has me in tears, Karen, and raw inside. Hugs Owl |

More notes from my scribble pages, which I probably should have left in the ole Marble Notebook...it was inspired by a celebration at my home that I had to thank my friends who had helped me through some very trying medical problems. That's right. Karen has a village of fierce wimmen warriors to watch her back. Thank you for reading, and your ever generous indulgence. |

More! More! Please more, from that ole Marble Notebook, please, pretty please! What I don't get, and have never got, is how you don't see the shining excellence in your poetry, Karen! And, it is soooooooooo easy to see - you know, like Monday=Monday! Owl |

Not the style I'm used to from you, but some very good imagery nonetheless. Don't disregard those old notebooks. I forbid you to even talk of such a heinous act. Michael |

Ha! The title brings memories of the New Orleans Mardi Gras of the 50's and 60's; the flambeaux carriers of the night parades (far different from today). Wonderful memories. Thanks, my friend... enjoyed the read... j. |
