She was all grown up daddies little girl with her small shirt onto his flannel button down He hugged her every night for he knew one day that she would be lost in the longest way in the farthest state with a man he could not debate A fate a series of moves and conversations he could not control but for every night he was still daddies little girl Every night with his wife no longer present he raised her with open arms for every strand of hair she grew she grew an inch taller a bit older a brunette that happened to be as soft as her own mothers hair that raced down her back when her father first met her at the bar by Ocean ave with a fateful stare, his baby girl was born under the stars sign on the day his wife passed he still had his baby girl on the side of his lap. |
